About College

Anandibai Raorane Arts, Commerce, and Science College is perched on a hilltop in the town of Vaibhavwadi, a taluka in the Kankavli subdivision of Sindhudurg district. It offers a serene view of hilly terrains, dense forests, and green landscapes which is conducive to learning and creativity.
Nestled amidst dense forests and Sahyadri mountain ranges, Vaibhavwadi taluka is a fairly rural area. It is home to people with deep traditions influenced by both Kolhapuri and Konkani civilizations. Despite its location on National Highway 66, life in Vaibhavwadi is slow-paced but not devoid of hardships. Most of its people are farmers and fall into the economically challenged group.
Being aware of this social reality, the college has always focused on the overall welfare and needs of its students. ARACS College provides the best opportunities for higher education and growth, confirming that every student deserves a fair chance to build a brighter future.
Our History
Founded on September 14, 1992, the establishment of the institute was an initiative by Khorkar (Arulekar) Raorane Mandal. With the conviction to make educational opportunities accessible to the weaker sections of the society, the Raorane Samaj Mandir in Vaibhavwadi was utilized to serve as an Arts College. These early steps were overseen by Rural Upliftment Organization.
In 2004, the institute saw a positive change in management and leadership under Maharana Pratapsinh Shikshan Sanstha. It was established by 51 members of the Raorane community. Hon. Vinod Tawade, the former education minister of Maharashtra, became the founder of Anandibai Raorane College, and ever since the college has been on a journey to inspire thousands of rural students and help them step up in the current competition.
The college is permanently affiliated to the University of Mumbai and has been recognized by UGC under 12(b) and 12(f) in 2018. It is also ISO-9001: 2015 certified. It has successfully undergone three cycles of NAAC accreditation, securing an A Grade (CGPA 3.08) in the 3rd cycle.
It offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in arts, commerce, and science with the objective to promote higher education, especially for economically weaker sections of rural areas in and around Vaibhavwadi. In addition to these programmes, the college has also introduced 18 certificate courses to supplement the students’ learning process. The spirit of creativity and intellectual discovery is infused in every aspect of this learning hub.
