Established in the academic year 2012-13, the Department of Zoology is committed to fostering a deep understanding of animal sciences and biodiversity. Over the past decade, we have grown into a vibrant academic hub, supported by a team of highly qualified full-time faculty dedicated to excellence in undergraduate education, research, and community outreach

The Department offers a comprehensive Undergraduate (UG) program, supplemented by specialised certificate courses designed to meet contemporary societal and industrial needs.

For our T.Y.B.Sc. students, we offer Entomology (the study of insects) as an Applied Component, providing practical insights into one of the most diverse branches of biology.

With over 10 batches of graduates, our alumni occupy prominent positions across various sectors. Our department consistently maintains a record of outstanding results in university examinations.


We believe that practical exploration is the cornerstone of biological sciences. Our facilities include:

  • Spacious and well-equipped labs featuring advanced instrumentation and a vast collection of animal specimens across different phyla, aligned with the latest university curricula.
  • A unique on-campus learning ecosystem featuring a Butterfly Garden and a specialised pond for the rearing and culture of microfauna, invertebrates, amphibians, and fish.
  • A professionally maintained laboratory fish tank for the study of aquatic life.
  • The department is a fully Wi-Fi-enabled zone, providing faculty and students with seamless access to high-speed internet, scanning, and printing facilities.

  • We utilise innovative tools, including Smart Board and Google Classroom, to create an interactive and digitised learning environment.
